Winamp Not Playing Anything. o.O

Hi all. ^.^ I'm new to these forums: To be honest I only joined to get these questions answered.
This problem has been occuring for a while. Whenever I try to play any song or movie of any type, Winamp will play the song, but no volume will be sounded. The item's there, it just won't be played. In movies, I can see the movie playing, yet with no sound. I've tried upgrading to 5.25, yet it did nothing. Help please?

tried turning the volume up? (in the windows volume control)

will it play mp3's?
have you tried installing ffdshow? (http://ffdshow.sf.net)

does your computer play any sounds.

have you got any third party plugins installed(any plugins that didn't come with the winamp installer)

Yes, my computer works fine with most sounds. It won't play mp3's however, .kar is the only one I've found works so far.

And no, but I do have Shoutcast. I can't quite remember, but this problem might have started after I installed that.

do you have a file called "in_mp3.dll" in your winamp/plugins folder?

or Nullsoft mpeg decoder in preferences(ctrl+p)-->input

don't use a playlist file add the mp3 straight from the hard disk.

Try a clean install of Winamp 5.3, and after that install the 5.3 update pack.

If no luck:

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.
