panning resets

ok, this really isnt a big deal but it is very annoying...

whenever i open winamp the panning sets itself to 100% left. i checked the .ini file and pan is set at 0 (center). i tried other values but nothing works. any help is appreciated.

btw im using winamp 5.3, but the problem started when i had 5.24

One or more of the following...
  • Do you have any third party plug-ins? Your issue looks like the BrowseAmp issue.
  • Try using DirectSound output instead of waveOut.
    Winamp > Ctrl+P > Plugins > Output > highlight/select DirectSound
    DirectSound tweaks
  • Do you have troubles with other settings not being saved correctly? Have a look at this and/or this.
  • Have you tried updating the sound drivers? If you have a soundcard go the manufacturer's website for updates. If you have an on board sound chip, go to the website of your computer provider or the manufacturer of the mother board.
If none of the above work or applies please post a reply (to your thread here) with system specs

i tried all of the items you mentioned and got the newest drivers for my x-fi but to no avail. actually, it did open correctly once, but the main windows were out of place so i corrected it, opened again and the windows were fixed but the panning slider was at the left again lol
