I downloaded the newest version of Winamp, and when I try to download a skin, I get a message saying that an error has occurred, with options to "close" and "ignore". If ignore is chosen, the dialog box stays.
If close is chosen, another dialog appears stating that "Winamp has caused an error in DIBENG.DLL. Winamp will now close. If the problem persists, try resarting your computer." Even if the computer is restarted, Winamp will not work after this error. I get the same dialog boxes, when I try to start Winamp, and must uninstall and reinstall it for it to work. So, the bottom line is, Winamp will work for me as long as I don't download skins. Why? If anyone knows, I'd like to hear from you. I'm using Windows ME, if that makes any difference, but I don't think it should. |

I also had a similar problem, and did not know what was causing it. I found out that it was one of my skins that was the culprit. I have probably 40 others that work just fine, but this one would cause the dibeng.dll error every time. I deleted that specific skin, and now it works fine. I am also running ME.
