Japanese file-names won't play...
Hi, I can't get files with japanese characters in the name to play in Winamp. I just get question marks, and it won't play. I know this is a old issue, but the topics I found didn't help.
Somebody said disabling "bitmap fonts" fixes this, but that post was over 3 years old, and I can't find that option. I also just downloaded the Japanese language pack for Winamp, installed into the Winamp directory. Don't notice anything different. Thanks for the help. |

First off, make sure you are using Winamp 5.3. Thern check out some of the notes.
It can open and load MP3 files with Unicode/Internation filenames (make sure you have no third-party MP3 encoders installed), but the Media Library currently does not support it. | Brought to you by ^V ^C | The one... the original... no seriously! |

Ok, I installed 5.3, I still had 5.24 for some reason.
I installed the new ml_local.dll, and changed those suggested settings. So now the files do play, which is good. Of course its still just question marks in the taskbar, and some of the files still have garbled looking file names in the playlist. |
