another problem with Winamp 5.3 and Win 98 SE

I'm using Winamp v5.3 Pro on Win 98SE.

if Winamp program is closed while playing a commercially produced audio CD, I get this error.

Not a huge deal, but the program should exit gracefully, without abending. is Winamp no longer supporting Win 98SE ?

Problem is, that Windows 98 is very old, many devs will no longer provide support for this old system. Even Microsoft will not support 98 any longer, so there are several unpatched security holes etc.

Winamp still has 98 support, if someone can help you, you need to provide more infos

Also is it possible, that the CD has a copy protection? Some CDs are crashing windows/programs?

Winamp can't burn CD on Win98 ?

very true Koopatrooper, Win 98SE is old, and an error at program exit is just a minor nuisance.

however, this other problem is a big problem for Win 98 users (in case you have any suggestions), see

Winamp uses a third party engine (Sonic) to burn files (same engine, which is used digital audio extraction for AudioCDs).

I saw a lot of postings, were people had problems with Sonic under 98. I have no more 98 system, so I cannot try to reproduce this, sorry.

Best would be, if you upgrade to 2000 or Xp, because I guess more and more devs will discontinue support for 98.

Or use another, more powerful application to burn CDs like Nero.
