Maybe this CDDB Tutorial will help.

Still no luck, CDDB is not updating? Sometimes it is just a matter starting with a "clean CDDB slate". While Winamp is not running, go to the Winamp Plug-ins folder (usually C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins as default). Delete the in_cdda.cdb file or move (or rename by adding .off to the end) for archival purposes.

Now you will have a fresh start with CDDB. Be sure not to delete/move/rename the CD input plug-in (in_cdda.dll), if you can't see extensions...
Configuring Windows To Show Extensions
Also, try the same with the Windows local CDDB file (CDplayer.ini) usually located in the Windows folder. However, instead of just deleting the file this time I would strongly suggest to back it up incase you need it again.

If you have multi-user setup for Winamp 5.3x, the in_cddb.cdb file may be located at C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Winamp. The Application Data folder is hidden by default, so you may need to checkmark "show hidden files/folders" in: Control Panel > Folder Options > View tab

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

Maybe a firewall issue? Gracenote has a tendency to display "Success" even though there is not a proper connection.

No i'm sure connection works cause I can see the titles if I look in the "information title"... but the list is not updated ! In fact i think it's not a CDDB problem, but a playlist problem and i can't see why...

Well, as far as Winamp is concerned try the following while Winamp is not running...

1. Right click on the Winamp folder (usually C:\Program Files\Winamp)
2. select Properties
3. General tab
4. uncheck/unselect 'Read-only' > click Apply
5. If asked to confirm, select 'Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files' > click OK
6. click OK

That should remove any arbitrary read-only settings with in the Winamp folder and help to ensure Winamp's local CDDB is written/updated correctly.

If you are still having a issue, please provide system and Winamp specs,

I reinstalled winamp 5.3 and it works now...

I really wonder what was wrong... maybe because it was a french version from winampfr.com and some additionnal plugins.

Thx, bye.
