new speaker setup and winamp is not working
hey, everyone. i got a 2.1 speaker set up [wow!] for my laptop. Sound and everything works with every other program besides my beloved winamp. I have to resort to itunes, ehhh.
I had a problem on my desktop when I got 5.1 setup years ago, and I just went into the preferences and made checked under my sound card "enable hardware acceleration" and it worked. But now, on this laptop, it doesn't let me check that option. So what should I do? Thanks. |

Hardware acceleration is not supported by all cards/chips, maybe a limitation of the drivers.
Please post your DirectX logfile. Thanks. Need to find more infos about the chip (the log doesn't gave me the expected infos)
You should upgrade to latest DirectX version. Download DirectX 9.0c from: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx Or install Service Pack 2. Try switching from DirectSound output to WaveOut - in Preferences, under Input Plugins... Swinging wild here, but it's probably worth a try

I already have the newest directX.
I tried switching the directsound output to waveout in preferences and it still didn't work, but I went to the master volume controls [the standard microsoft one on the taskbar] and for some reason "wave" was lowered all the way to the bottom. When I bring it up top I can hear sound! But everytime I play a new song, the "wave" option is still muted. Why??! |
