Behavior changes

I've been having a few issues with winamp since my most recent update, and they continue to plague me despite trying to uninstal/reinstal. (Quite annoying, but hopefully not a lost cause!)

In the past when I've used winamp and closed the program down, the files I've added to my playlist were still there when I restarted the progam later. Lately it seems to skip back to the first file loaded before adding to or saving playlists. (It used to jump back to this annoying video I downloaded from a friend, but since reinstal it goes back to the winamp into file that comes with the program.)

Also, I can't seem to find where I need to go to save the changes I've made in my preferences. The preferences seem to revert to the defaults each time I reload the program. I'm using the modern skin, but switching back to the classic skin didn't seem to solve this problem. The windows end up scattered or stacked on my desktop, and all my color/font preferences revert to their defaults, too.

Please Help! (I had a bit of trouble locating previous posts with the same issue and searching the help guides.)

Winamp should save all settings on exit. Do you close Winamp properly before shutting down Windows?
Running any system cleaning utilities that may erase Winamp setting files?
