it'll be fixed as and when i look into the matter and if i can confirm the issue on my end. there is no eta since i'm barely coding anything at the moment and when i do it's only things for myself (since i'm not paid to support and maintain the plugin involved with your issue)

For three years of existence Winamp 5 in the program there was nothing essentially new. Only bug fix...
For example awful processing of sound EQ. I use ElectriQ 1.5.
Or.... Notorious playlist
Full MAKI internalisation....

BUT..... I LIKE WINAMP, THANKS THAT YOU IS!!!

pEar 242: there were loads of bug fixes in the few years before 5.x when 2.x was the main version any active work/changes (as has been going on especially since 5.09x) will generate bug fixes and over long periods of time more obscure issues will be found and then in turn will be fixed. i'd rather see bug fixes and a more stable program over adding new features.

with the comment about the EQ, everyone's ears are different and what's fine for one person will not be for another. hence why i don't use an EQ and you do, it's individual choice

not sure what you mean by 'Or.... Notorious playlist' though

naumaxos: there was nothing wrong with your post, i was just stating facts (though i was probably a bit too blunt in my repsonse)

Be happy, that Winamp is a stable media player, bug fixes are always good.

No new features? The new main thing is unicode, we waited for a long time for this feature.

24Bit support/ReplayGain/Gapless playback in in_mp3, multiuser support, CD-Text, Flac support, revamped preferences are many good new features.

Also remember, Winamp's dev team isn't large.

The unicode display is good, but it is not complete as Winamp can not yet load files with full unicode in the filenames. But I have been informed this is being worked on but I do not know how high it is on the todo list. Since unicode is supposed to be complete, this would be a reasonable minor upgrade. Certain characters used in the European languages make files unloadable by Winamp. But yes, stability and fixing bugs is preferable to features that half work.

all of the unicode named test media i've got will load fine into the playlist editor, it's only ones added into the media library where the lack of unicode support remains...

And the small taskbar thing still has no unicode support, but the main player supports unicode and this is one thing, I had never expected, but now it is there.

the taskbar issue can only really be rectified i believe by dropping all win9x os support since the internal winamp window proceedure would need to be a unicode one.

Yeah makes sense.

I guess someday Win9x support will be canceled, the question is just when.

There are lots of known issues and limitations with these old systems, the systems also won't get any security update.

I can't wait. Today we're really just supporting Win9x for the principle of it
