Cannot view .wav files

I recently (with hesitation) upgraded to WinAmp 5.31, and now I remember why. I convert my .mp3 files to .wav to put on a CD and play in my vehicle. However, when I open WinAmp 5.31 to play a .wav file, it does not show them as a "supported type" file. How can I change that so I do not have to go to "all files" for each song I want to include in a playlist? I've made my WinAmp the default player for .wav files, but that didn't help, and I selected "all files" in WinAmp preferences, again, didn't work. Thanks
