Using automatic configuration script
I've searched the Forums and the other relevant help/tech support postings to avail. (One other person posted the same question in Aug 04 but received no response.) Here is my issue...
I'm in a large corporate network. They use IE and the following setup: In IE, Tools | Internet Options | Connections (tab) | LAN Settings: Use automatic configuration script is checked, with this in the Address box: "http://webproxy.us.bigcompany.net/scripts/phnard.pac" In the same dialog box, in the Proxy server subsection, the checkbox is NOT checked (for "Use a proxy server for your LAN...") I'm able to stream through Windows Media 9 (www.di.fm for example), but would like to stream through Winamp (more streaming music options like ShoutCast for example). Looking at Win Media settings, the HTTP proxy stream is set to use IE Settings. When streaming through Win Media for the first time, it prompts me for my username and password. How do I config Winamp with this network structure? Thank you in advance. |

Yeah I have the exact same problem. I've gotten it to work for port 80 as follows:
<user_name>:<password>@<proxy_IP_address> The only problem is it only works for port 80 ... and you have to change the password everytime you network password changes. ... If only it could access through your IE configuration or if WINAMP could use the configuration script directly through the server. Also I'd like to stream from other ports than 80 ... Some channels are not offered on 80. Anyone else dealt with this? ... I hate to mention it (WMP |
