Automatically deleting/losing tracks..

Well I've pretty much changed and changed back almost every related setting in the Winamp preferences but this problem continues... (I'm a winamp n00b so be nice..)

Basically whenever I start Winamp OR delete some tracks, it automatically deletes some files - the exact number varies - and to get them back I have to clear my whole library and then add everything back in. I have NO idea why it's doing this, maybe I'm missing some setting somewhere.
What's weird is it also does it when I search for something, only if you click the clear search button the files appear again... only not all at once, and you have to keep clicking until the whole library returns. This has just started happening also when I re-add my whole library - the files don't appear in the library until I click Clear Search.

I've talked to other users and they don't know what's going on either so... if anyone can shed some light I'd be very grateful

Are you saying that files which are on the hard drive are being deleted from the track(s) list in the ML? Hmmm, maybe this...

Winamp > Ctrl+P (for preferences)
Media Library > Local Media
'Watch Folders' tab > uncheck 'Automatically remove missing files'
As for the search bar in the ML, it is an on the fly search. As you type the letters, entries/tracks that contain the sequence of the letters will be displayed. When you clear the search, all track are displayed.

Otherwise, Winamp should not be haphazardly deleting entries/tracks. If the issue is not resolved, please provide system & Winamp specs.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

Well I have unchecked the "Automatically remove missing files" option when I first used winamp, so it's not that.. Also when you clear the search would you not expect all the files to return at once rather than in say groups of about 10?
Also the files that get deleted from the ML are still on the hard drive and haven't been moved, they just seem to delete themselves. I can't figure out any pattern in the ones that get deleted either.
It's version 5.31 full, OS WinXP sp2, 240GHz CPU and 480MB of RAM.. I don't know what else..

A One for Nunz report (my plugins list) and a HijackThis this log would be helpful. Instructions for post the report & log are in the system & Winamp specs link.
Helpful
