Music Being Shortend
I've just upgraded to Winamp 5.32 from 5 (i think it was 5) when I go to re-scan watch folders in Media Library all my songs start to show a time of 0.00 or 0.01 seconds and will only play the very start of the song. The really scary thing is the file size of the song is know around 18k. I hope this isn't perminate. Does anyone know why this could be happening?
Thanks Sam |

Winamp does not modify your files. It sounds like some other application (malware maybe?) did something to your files.
Please provide more info: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....d=161361#specs (system specs, HijackThis log, my_plugins_list) |

There's one item of malware showing in your HJT log...
O16 - DPF: {DECEAAA2-370A-49BB-9362-68C3A58DDC62} (SAIX) - http://static.zangocash.com/cab/Zango/ie/bridge-c2.cab?d745b379..(edit)..6eb3b577 Zango/SAIX is a variant of 180Solutions http://www.castlecops.com/atxlist-1641.html http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/p...x?id=453094343 http://www.scanspyware.net/info/ZangoSearch.htm Ad-Aware SE should detect and remove all traces. Close all browser/explorer/email/etc windows, remove that one entry only with HJT, then run the Ad-Aware SE scan. I've not heard of it modifying mp3 files before, though there's plenty of malware out there which does, so anything's possible. Note, your system will always be vulnerable unless you upgrade to WinXP sp2 and IE7 (or use another browser instead of IE, eg. Firefox), and install all other critical updates from windowsupdate.com |
