Files stay locked after removed from Playlist

Version: 5.32
OS: Win '03 Server SP1

After I remove a track from the playlist, Winamp apparently still has it "open", and it remains locked "read-only" until I exit.

This is a royal PITA when I'm (trying) to organize my music collecton.. Since the file is left in an R/O state, I can't rename/move it, nor any directory all the way down the tree!

Ideally, I'd think it would be better to only have the (file) open when it needs to be read from: Upon adding to playlist, open, read tags, calc duration, close, then opening to play, and closing either before either starting the next track, or upon removal from the playlist.

What file extensions?
I tried .mp3 and .ogg and couldn't reproduce the problem, so gave up.
