I've got a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card running version 1.01.4034.64 of the control panel. Whenever WINAMP goes to the next song in a playlist, my Santa Cruz loses its equalizer setting and goes into this weird, reverb-heavy mess. The song's playing, but it sounds terrible. If I open up the Santa Cruz control panel and re-set it to the EQ setting I like, everything's great again...until WINAMP moves to the next song...then it's that terrible sound again. I've reinstalled WINAMP, reinstalled Santa Cruz and everything. I'm at wit's end. I'm actually considering using Windows Media Player because everything works perfectly there. I LOVE Winamp and don't want to make the switch, but I don't know that I have a choice.

Goto : Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Output -> WaveOut -> Configure
Uncheck : Volume Control = Enable Alternatively, checkmark : Alt Setting mode -or- leave blank If this still doesn't work, select DirectSound Output instead of WaveOut. (Also has similar volume control option in config) btw, Are you using both the Winamp EQ -AND- your soundcard's equalizer? If so, try turning the Winamp EQ off. Also, are you using any DSP/FX plugins in Winamp? If so, goto : Prefs -> DSP/FX -> select "None" If you still have problems, post here & we'll take things from there. |
