winamp showing the incorrect time
first of all i have a huge mp3 music library, something like 8,000 mp3s.
everything was fine for the most part, ive noticed that some times when i put add some music to my existing collection of mp3s (which i keep everything inside folders inside D:\my music) that some times winamp shows the wrong times (of how long the song is). and somehow it has to do with the filename. ive noticed that sometimes if i rename the file itself it will show up correctly. usualy the incorrect time shows up as being 20-25 minutes and some seconds (i havent been able to notice a pattern such as it always adding the same amount of time or anything) while this isnt interupting the playing of the song. it destroys the purpose of printing out how long your playlist is or how long a song is, if you know its not accurate theres no use of it. i don't know exactly whats causing this really (or exactly how to reproduce it), just ive noticed it happeniing more and more recently as my library size is growing (note the time shows incorrectly inside the winamp media library and on the playlist) when i play the song it starts out showing the wrong time, thne it jumps around as it plays and usualy towards 1/4 to 1/2 into the song it gets to (or close to) the correct time it should be on the display, but still shows incorrectly on the playlist. has anyone had problems like this or know of ways to fix it? if a winamp developer sees this i can send him (or whoever) one of the mp3s that are being problemous so he can investigate it i am using the latest version of winamp (5.32) and i noticed on the changelog it says it fixed the classic skin time drawing bug, at first i thought it was referring to this but it still seems to be broken. |
