Auto check sc_trans.log activity

Your setup Jkey is too be admired. But is a bit beyond our ability at the moment. We have a Debian linux server on which the player is installed (re-installed with no joy at this point). It connects to the server which is hosted by viastreaming.com. When dj's connect they kick the main radio from the via server and do their show. All other functions appear to work fine. I've noticed rl was installed, which appears to be recommended, would this have a bearing on what is happening? I did not re-install this component at this time.

Is there a substitute for sc_trans_linux which has been used successfully? Or has anyone noticed a compatability problem with Debian?
