Crystalfontz LCD and shoutcast

Is there a plugin or some software to interface with the shoutcast DNAS that will output to an external LCD with info about how many users are listening, etc. ?

if you have 2 monitors set up then you can just push the screen accross with the dnas on in a web browser,

it doesnt really need any plugins as its a basic windows function with 2 screens.

That's great, except I don't have two screens. I have my main display and a serial Crystalfontz 20x4 character display (634 v2.2) I guess that is actually 2 screens. the 20x4 is not a video device.

It's a standard serial driven device.

i have never seen anything like this,

i would imagine you have software to update the text and ive never seen anything like this used in my time.

good luck with your quest as i would say you would need something written to interface with the dnas xml to input into the software for the screen..

There's lots of software that uses these and other kinds of LCD screens. One of my favorites is lcdproc, http://lcdproc.omnipotent.net/

There's also a winamp plugin for it.

You would need to write an application that could send the data to the serial port. You might need to plug this into the Shoutcast source code, or you might try Icecast and see if someone has already done this for you.

Your mileage may vary!
