Blocking out certain broadcasts

There are News, Sports and Weather broadcasts that we would like keep from being streamed. Is there a way to tell ShoutCast to play something else during those times?

We are hosting the server . We are not permitted to stream ABC News, ABC Sports etc.. They occure at specific times during our broadcast day.

so im assuming you are trying to restream your daytime fm radio?

if that is the case i imagine it would need to be done manually as there is nothing that can reconnect to the server for the time you need it,

unless the amazing clockwheel might be able to help you,
http://www.riograndemud.com/clockwheel/index.htm

im stabbing in the dark here as i have neber used it,
i hope it helps

You might want to look into "SOS" from SpacialAudio. I own a licensed copy and I know it will do what you want it to do... it's just a matter of determining how to integrate it with your webcast & broadcast systems. Spacial is usually pretty good about helping with that stuff.

SOS = Stream Overlay System

Built to allow a terrestrial simulcaster to webcast alternate content when broadcasting, for example, commercials. It will also work for news and sports shows.

*** beat to the bell by dotme - anyway here's my original answer ***

There IS a bespoke software solution to your query - which can replace certain segments of your AM / FM stream with other outputs (news, weather, adverts etc etc).

It's called SOS Overlay -

"SOS is a powerful ad-replacement solution for terrestrial stations that want to replace "over the air" content with "internet only" content. A good example of this would be to replace local advertising with internet specific advertising. SOS integrates directly with your existing radio automation solution, seamlessly replacing content while also providing important statistics and reports on viewers of each spot or song that played. "

- produced by Spacialaudio LLC - you can get more info at www.spacialaudio.com
