2 different ipods - separate music

hi guys. i have a 30gb 5th gen ipod which i use this plugin for with winamp. my friend has given me her shuffle (original generation). can i put separate tunes on there for her without messing up my ipod? dont want to try it in case anything gets wiped. thanks!

you should be able to do this just fine. You just need to ensure that each iPod has the proper settings for syncing. For example, when the shuffle is in, go to the iPod configuration and set it to manual sync. Than put your songs on the Shuffle manually. Unplug your shuffle and plug in your regular iPod. Go to iPod configuration and set that to whatever kind of sync you want.

Basically, all those settings in the iPod configuration menu are saved onto the iPod itself. So once you set each iPod on its proper setting, each iPod should be able to have separate songs on it. I'm guessing you would want the shuffle on manual sync and the 3GB iPod on automatic sync

I have done this for a friend also and it works fine. Just be aware that if your friend tries to use itunes with the ipod after you have loaded it using winamp, itunes on a different computer will essentially erase the songs you put on there.
