Disable required reconnect when changing Source

Hello!

I have a shoutcast-server + sc_trans installed.
But of course, when changing the source its required for listeners to reconnect.
Is there any way to disable this?
For example: Force a buffer of more than 10sec (sc_trans reconnect-time is set to 10sec)

greets from austria,
Pete

It is nit requires that listeners get dropped when you change source, but they may drop on their own if no data comes in -- that is player-specific.

The DNAS config controls what happens when the source is dropped with connected listeners:

; AutoDumpUsers controls whether listeners are disconnected if the source
; stream disconnects. The default is 0.
AutoDumpUsers=0

0 [=no] means listeners are NOT dropped by the DNAS, but their player may have other rules/logic that you cannot control -- in general, a listener's player will try to rebuffer when its local buffer runs out, and then it will wait a certain amount of time (RealPlayer calls it server timeout) before it disconnects from the idle stream.

thx for your answer ...
AutoDumpUsers is set to 0!

With MediaPlayerClassic it is not required to reconnect, but Winamp stops if the connection is fast enough!

But is there a plugin/setting for shoutcast to play for example a jingle, if no source is connected?

There is a backup option, but beware, it's extremely tricky to setup, and it may not effect an already-connected listener in that it will only be delivered to listeners who attempt to connect while there is no source connected. You may also want to consider what happens to the listener when the source is re-connected -- I think the backup is looped continuously.

okay, thank you very much!

So i'll keep the settings how they are.

I'm currently testing in LAN, so maybe when it streams over Internet, the Buffer will be high enough to keep all listeners connected.
