I just read the rock vs rap thread, and I think both corporate rock and top40/rap stuff are only pre-digested music for the masses and nothing more.

Corporate music is for people who don't like to make choices. Most people in America are unable to think for themselves, much less make a choice when it comes to music, so corporate music thrives here.

Classic rock intersects corporate and indie labels, and is the exception.

Indie labels are where the true talent and creativity are.
