Is there a way to turn it off? It reminds me iTunes and I hate it. Please share your knowledge. I am sure there is a way to get around.

Uncheck it in the installer. Otherwise, if it is already installed:
Preferences > Plugins > Media Library > "Nullsoft Online Services ..." > Uninstall selected plug-ins
