no most people use AmEx who pay their cards off on time because they do not charge interest.

Companies like discover and many others charge a daily interest rate. That means that $30 you charged becomes $35 when the bill comes.

With AmEx a $30 charge = $30 when the bill arrives. Since AmEx does not make money on their cards, that is why you have to pay a membership fee.

Most merchants do not like AmEx because AmEx charges a higher transcation fee from the merchant because they are not making monty off what is being charged. When I was in Greece, everyone jacked the price up 10% everytime I pulled the card out. I learned to get euros really damn fast.

Personally, I love Amex. Once I got financially stable I got rid of all the other cards and that is the only one I use. Plus, their frequent flyer miles kick the shit out of everyone else's....
