I've always thought there was something about a song that suddenly (sometimes seamlessly) changes it's tempo or time signature partway through. Make for more interesting listening maybe?
Anyway here's my list for now of songs that do this, have a liten and post your own. FORMAT: ARTIST - TITLE - TIME OF CHANGE - DESCRIPTION (IF ANY) The Crockets - Don't Curse in Front of My Kids - 0:45, 1:18, 1:33 - A good one to start off with, has a few changes that then repeat throughout the song. The Crockets - Bucket and Spade - 1:11, 1:40 - Then repeats. Daniel Johnston - Rock 'n' Roll/EGA - 0:35 - Then at regurlar intervals. Weezer - Keep Fishing - 1:10 Mew - Am I Wry? No - 2:10, 3:25 - Begins with a few seconds of an unusal time sig before settling into a 4/4, then goes into a waltz, then back before another change at 3:25. Lit - Quicksand - 3:04 - Comes in with only seconds to spare but it makes for a great ending. Hope I get some replies, give me something interesting to listen to!
If you can hear yourself singing...the music ain't loud enough! |

Not sure if its exactly what you want...
Steel Attack - Diabolic Symphony - in the middle of the chorus the drums seems to hit a beat in a different time sig, i'm sure its done to be kinda ironic with the name of the song, sounds pretty cool. |

Dave Brubeck - Take 5 - (many times throughout the song) Time sig goes back and fourth from 5/4 to 4/4
Don't forget to live before you die.
