I know how to assemble a playlist, and I am already familiar with burning CDs with MP3 files. Now I want to burn a CD with my MP3s AND a playlist that ACCESSES the CD for the list, as if I had just put an album into the drive. Whenever I burn a playlist with my MP3s, it does not read the list local to the MP3s on the same disk. I know this can be done, and I'm reluctant to make a playlist afterwards and then turn around and burn it onto the CD after the fact. Why? Well I usually fill up (or very close to it) a CD when I burn a disk, so I need to know how much space is left for finalizing the disk. Is there a way to EDIT a playlist file to locally look for the MP3s that are stored on the same disk?

Assemble all the MP3's you ae going to burn to the CD into one directory, smulating exactly how they will be on the CD. Then, add the MP3's to Winamp and save the playlist. Make sure to save the playlist into the directory with the MP3's, and not to save it elsewhere and then move it. The reason for this is that when you save a list in the same directory as the referred-to files, it list them internally as, for example, /Du Hast.mp3 or /Soft/Imagine.mp3 instead of as C:/Du Hast.mp3 and C:/Soft/Imagine.mp3. The advantage of not having the drive letter in the reference is of course that no matter what drive the files are on, as long as they are in the same root- or sub- directory relative to the playlist, the files will play properly.
