wav file problems

Hi,

I just got a new computer and decided to update Winamp in the process. Old computer: Windows XP with Winamp 5.13, new computer: Windows Vista with Winamp 5.35. Anyway, when I try to play music on my new computer, some of the wav files play while others do not (the length of the file doesn't show up in the playlist, and when you try to play it, it just skips to the first "playable" file). However, when I deselected "wav" from Waveform Decoder 3.13, the files that didn't play now work, while the files that previously played won't anymore. Can I get both sets of wav files to play with no problems? Thanks in advance!

goo.

It sounds like some bright genius decided to stick a RIFF header and a .wav extension on a perfectly good MPEG layer 3 audio stream.

Try DrO's Waveform Wrapper plugin. I would strip the RIFF headers and rename so that they can be played directly by the MP3 input plugin. Ther is at least one program in the thread which does that.
