Problem playing vorbis-compressed waves
Hi, I have some wave files compressed with Xiph's Vorbis audio codec. They play fine on everyting I tried them on, except winamp. Trying to play them in winamp makes winamp exnter an infinite loop of starting and stopping the playback. It consumes 100% of 1 core and can be stopped only by forcing the task to end via the task manager.
Is there any way to make winamp play these files? I recall that some older versions of winamp could play vorbis-compressed waves with no poblems. The attachment is the Windows' autostart tune, compressed with Vorbis. It plays well, but not in winamp. /edit I have just installed Winamp 5.35 and realized that its "All supported" filter (while adding a new file) is actually "All files". So I have uninstalled it and installed old 5.03c. Not only it properly shows "All supported" (not "all files"), but it actually plays vorbis-compressed waves with no problems. What's that? The newer the worse? :| Last edited by starczyk; 2nd June 2007 at 17:36. |

Take a look at this thread and see if there is anything to help you there.
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....97#post2143397 I don't have the plugin installed so haven't checked if it works with .ogg, it was mainly designed for mp3. UJ |
