USB Hauppauge Cable-TV Tuner video files play upside-down

I have a high end USB video cable-tv tuner made by Hauppauge which allows me to watch cable tv on my laptop and also record *.mpg files of any televised video content. The problem occurs when I try to play back the recorded video files, they play back upside-down. I have tested playback usig Quicktime and Realplayer and the playback is rightside-up.
Can someone suggest a solution to this problem because I only use my WiAmp Pro software for audio and video playback, all other players are inferior compared to WinAmp, so far .
Thank you

I hate to answer my own question but I went to General Options/Preferences/Video and under the Advanced Video Options at bottom of dialog box I unchecked "Allow Hardware Video Overlay" and the video played rightside-up. I will experiment further with these options to see if there is a better solutio and report it here if I make further progress.

This problem is usually caused by using old/crappy DirectShow Splitters or Filters.

From the FAQ

Videos play upside-down
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=219978
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=220134

However, we will need to know more info about the .mpg files before being able to accurately diagnose the problem...
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....d=161361#video

A MediaInfo log for one of the problem videos, a dxdiag log, and the list of DirectShow Splitters/Filters that Winamp says it's using (via File Info / Alt+3) when said video is playing in Winamp.

At a guess, install ffdshow and set it to handle mpeg-1 and mpeg-2

If the problem persists, then it's probabaly whatever mpeg splitter is default on your system to blame, and not the mpeg filters/decoders.
