When I double click on almost any video file winamp does not open them, it works great on mp3 files but when I want to open a video file which I have done a million times before it wont open the file!
I have used winamp for many years and have reinstalled my current version the newest one several times and still no luck, what is wrong and how do I fix it? Winamp opens just fine but it is the video screen that does not open so I get no video and no sound just the winamp things opens not the video screen Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_qfe.070227-2300) Language: Swedish (Regional Setting: Swedish) System Manufacturer: Fujitsu Siemens BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.93GHz Memory: 512MB RAM Page File: 385MB used, 864MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode Card name: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce FX 5500 DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Display Memory: 256.0 MB ------------- Sound Devices ------------- Description: Realtek AC97 Audio Default Sound Playback: Yes Default Voice Playback: Yes Type: WDM Driver Name: ALCXWDM.SYS Driver Version: 5.10.0000.6050 (English) Driver Attributes: Final Retail WHQL Logo'd: Yes Date and Size: 3/20/2006 15:45:52, 3960000 bytes Other Files: Driver Provider: Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Did you actually install video support with Winamp? Reinstall again, make sure video support is selected in the installer.
Preferences > Plugins > Input Verify "Nullsoft DirectShow Decoder v1.03" is there. http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....d=161361#video | Brought to you by ^V ^C | The one... the original... no seriously! |

An update!
The videos wont open in a specific folder but if I move the same exact file to another folder they open just fine, how weird isn’t that! |

Any clues what makes that folder specific? e.g. any odd characters in the path?
What kind of videos are we talking about here? wmv/avi/mpg? http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....d=161361#video |
