incorrect display of umlaut's in main player window

I've searched other forums here and Google for an answer to this but have found nothing to fix it. Some older possible fixes (from the forums here) don't work. This occurs in versions 5.35 and also in 5.34, I don't recall if it happened in earlier versions but it probably did.

Question: is there a way to get the umlaut to display in the player window? (Is there a way to change the font in the player window at all?) The umlaut displays correctly in the playlist and the song plays fine, but I get one font display in the player window for songs tagged with it and another for songs not tagged with it. I've placed the umlaut in the IDtag's (both v1 and v2). Removing the unlautted letter from either tag has no effect. Am using Vista Ultimate. Any ideas?

See attachment...the sample with the umlaut is on the bottom, without is on the top.

Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. I'd seen the link you provided earlier and it didn't work. I played around with it again and got the result I was looking for by checking the "allow use of bitmapped fonts that have not been mapped" option on the Font Rendering tab. No other changes appear to affect the players font display that I could find.

Thanks again!
