Playing a stream-saved 125MB .ogg CPU=100%, WinAMP,Windows Unresponsive
I've just recorded a couple of tracks from a net-radio that broadcast in .ogg format.
http://www.radiosity.sk/sity128.m3u I used winamp's Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder's ability to record ogg streams. I used Winamp 5.35. The small files (around 3MB) are played without problems. I've also recorded a big track (118 minutes - 125MB). Now the problem is when i tried to play it in winamp, it began to play the first couple of seconds but the machine became unresponsive and the cpu load went up to 100percent. I had really big problems to close the application. Using a different player made the track play perfectly. I used xmplayer and windows media player. They had no problem playing it. So i guess it could have been a bug. The ogg file doesn't seem to be corrupted 'cause i checked the file and converted it to an .mp3 file in several converters (including the winamp's format converter) and as an mp3 file it just worked fine. But i want to preserve the original file because converting porduces quality loss. Any idea? |
