Winamp won't open without vista having me confirm
I use Vista. Which I know is obnoxious to begin with when it comes to confirmation messages.
But this is a new problem. For some reason, the Winamp icon on my desktop now has a little Windows shield icon on top of it in the lower corner of the Winamp icon. And now. I have to click "Allow" every time I open it, and it doesn't open with my skins activated or anything like that anymore ever. This never ever used to happen, and I don't know why it is now. Is there any known solution? It just started today. |

the shield means administrator account required.
have you installed any third party plugins? because i don't think winamp needs admin rights at startup to work properly. |

Yes, I've installed a few plugins lately. Think I should just... uninstall them?
What a shame What type of plugins would do this? certainly not skins or visualizations?

skins should be fine, maybe one of the plugins needs admin rights to work properly.
the only way I know how to turn it off is to turn ALL alerts off. open windows security center hit "change the way security center alerts me" click "don't notify me and don't display the icon" |
