vista is shutting down winamp after install

I just upgraded to vista home prem i got the new full v of winamp after going through the install process it gets to the screen that has you put in your email address and when you click the later or send button it popups up with a window that says winamp has stopped working - a problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
I have gone through the help files and 'think' that i have tried everything - ive done searches in the fourms but havent seen an issue like mine. Any ideas ?? BTW i am having a similar issue w/ firefox

was it an upgrade of windows or a fresh install?

you will probably need to perform a clean re-install of winamp

this is because winamp stores files in different locations in vista.
