Video problems with Vista

Hello,

I have been having problems with Winamp since installing Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

The sound is fine, but when I load an AVI movie the video is poor quality and if I go full screen it is unwatchable. The image is choppy, with low framerate, lines and blurring - as if the video was very poor quality. The AVI files I have tried are high quality and all play perfectly using Windows Media Player and VLC media player. MP3 music files play perfectly.

My main system specs are:
Core 2 Duo 6400
2Gb RAM
Radeon X1950XT
Soundblaster Audigy 4

I have all the latest drivers and use the K-Lite Codec pack for required plugins.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Winamp, and have checked the FAQ and searched the forums here (sorry if I missed anything). I found a couple of posts with similar issues, but they had no reply.

Thanks,

Leila

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm

try reinstalling these codecs over the klite ones

I suggest the SSE compiled ones for your CPU type.

(ffdshow is a part of the klite codec pack)

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately the SSE version of ffdshow did not make a difference in the video quality.
