Problem with CDDB lookup in 5.35
Operating System: Windows XP SP 2
Logged on with Administrator privileges Winamp 5.35 Pro Install options: Separate settings per user Installed CDDB lookup (version 3.33) I've had a problem with looking up the CDDB information with Winamp 5. When I go to the CD-ROM drive in the Media Library, the CDDB lookup seems to be performed multiple times. I believe that it would go on indefinitely, but clicking on close/abort makes it stop. When I right click to edit the information, since I don't completely trust the database, it performs the lookup again. After making changes and clicking Save to exit the Edit screen, it immediately performs the CDDB lookup again, resulting in the loss of the saved information. To solve the problem, I tried disabling the automatic CDDB lookup. However, when editing the CD info, it still didn't save the information. I don't believe that this is a problem with the in_cdda.dll file because I tried replacing it with the in_cdda.dll file from an install of Winamp 2 that I have and encountered the same problem. I am not currently running version 5.35. I did a clean install of 5.34 and have no problems with it, so I'm not really looking for another solution, but I thought I would bring the problem to the attention of those who may be able to fix the bug. |

I never used to have this problem until today when inserting a new CD. It seemed to be looking up the info for multiple tag sections inside a track separately, whereas it usually looks up once and applies all the info to all the tracks at once. I'm still looking for a solution. If anyone could help, that'd be great.

Followup:
Okay, I don't know how this seemed to fix the cddb lookup, but I had two instances of Winamp open (as one is my Shoutcast radio). I closed the radio and then the lookup seemed to be just fine. I hope this doesn't happen again however. |
