Help Needed
A Long while ago, I posted a thread saying I was having trouble synchronizing DRM'd WMAs to my Generic MP3 Player
Everyone kept replying that either Winamp couldn't do that, or that the only way was to record my DRM'd songs through the sound card. I can't do that because of 2 things: 1. I have a whole heap of DRM'D WMAs, so that would be a real drag. 2. IF I DID, THAT WOULD BE PIRACY! Seriously, Napster used to be a music sharing network like LimeWire until it was sued, then it had to come back as a music store! I was just wondering if there was any other way, if the bug has been fixed (I mean, if it can sync DRM WMAs to Creative devices, why can't it do Generics? Hmm? :wierd .I appreciate any helpful response, as this small error IS DRIVING ME NUTS! ![]() Thank you, and Go Winamp!

That is not piracy to de-crap your files but I'm not going to comment on that further.
You can use Winamp to transfer protected WMA files to a portable device. I doubt Winamp will let you transcode them as that is basically why Winamp had its licence pulled in the past. For generic USB devices which use pmp_usb you will need to tell Winamp that the device supports WMA files. Open Prefs -> Media Library -> Portables -> [Your device name] -> Advanced tab. Now add the wma extension to the list. Please note that your portable will only play them if it supports Windows Media DRM. I assume you know that it does or you wouldn't be asking. I don't have any DRM files to test with so I guess this is an assumption Winamp ATF Reference — My cPro timer widget — My port of AVS Do NOT email me with general tech support questions. |
