Adding Wav files to library

Hi-

I have a large vinyl collection I am converting to WAV files using "LP Recorder 6.0.4" to record the files & "LP Ripper 6.3.0" to encode to WAV.

When I add one of these converted albums to the library, the Album Title appears correctly as does the Song Titles. But the Artist Panel lists the artist as "(no artist)".

How do I get the Artist's name to appear correctly?

Thanks-

Bill

the .wav format doesn't support metadata, so no tags to write informations like artist, title, album, genre, year, etc.

so, all the informations have to be in the filename and Winamp extract them when the pattern is sometghing like this:
- artist\album\title
- artist - album\track number - artist - title
and other
an "exotic" filename pattern or a title like track15, likely gives no informations to Winamp

if you like the the lossless format (like .wav) you should use a moderm lossless format like flac (natively supported by Winamp Full version)
flac format supports metadata, so you can embed many informations in the audio files
