I was hoping 2.73 would fix this but I see it's still there. When I pause winamp and scroll to the begining of a song (or anywhere else) it begins to play again, but still displays that it is paused. To re-pause one must then hit pause twice. This may sound picky but if you're trying to figure out how to play something it's nice to be able to move to a spot in a song and keep winamp paused till your ready to start again. Thanks. -tw

It stays paused for me, all the time!
Have you installed any 3rd party plugins, possibly of the General Purpose or Input variety? Also, is this happening with ALL file formats, or just one? (eg. MP3) |

The only third party software I have installed is a crossfadder (Sqr Soft ACF 1.65). It happens with mp3, and wav files. I haven't tried others. Thanks -tw

It's in output and my only options are "about" and "configure". I'm not sure how to uninstall it. The problem is the crossfadder. When I changed it's options to enable crossfadding on a seek the pause problem went away. Unfortunately, I don't want it to crossfade when I seek. Thanks again -tw

The normal way to remove a plugin is:
1. Goto the relevant section in Prefs, in this case = Output 2. Make a note of the actual filename, eg. out_sqsoft.dll (I'm not sure of the actual filename for SqrSoft Crossfader, 'cos I don't have it) 3. Close Prefs & exit Winamp. 4. In Explorer, goto your plugins dir, by default = C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins 5. Remove said DLL. 6. Reopen Winamp. Plugin should be no longer listed under Output. There are other Crossfaders you can try via the Output or DSP/FX plugins pages. I personally use Winamp Crossfader by Zdenek Broz. This one is a stand alone EXE file & not actually a plugin! |

Thanks. I realized in the course of uninstalling it that only a single output dll is used and you can change them by just selecting the one you want. When I want the pause thing to work I can just switch to the out_wav.dll and otherwise use the crossfadder when i don't care and just want to listen without interuption. I'm happy now. Thanks again -tw
