Here goes:
Winamp was running beautfully (and has been for years) until I recently installed Lionhead's Dancing Bear Plugin. It basically wouldn't install - it said it did, (and put all its files in the right places - DLLs in plugin dir and bitmaps etc. in a sub-dir) but then never showed up in the plugin setup panel in Winamp. Thought I'd have another go, so deleted all plugins, uninstalled Winamp completely (and deleted the remaining files in C:\program files\winamp), DLd and installed the latest version (2.73) and tried once more. Now, not only does the dancing bear plugin not install, but a lot of others don't either. (The system tray controller, Tripex2 and the Pizza Guy's Psychephilia to name a few - all of which I'd had working before this cunning stunt (spoonerism?)). Any ideas? Some of these plugins are obviously leaving more on the system than they would lead one to believe, maybe in the registry or something? i dunno! ;-/ Thanks, GDI |

Firstly, was Winamp fully closed b4 you attempted to install the plugins?
(It should be!) Secondly, is the plugin path correctly configured in Prefs -> Plugins? If the answer to these 2 questions is "yes", then can you please provide a list of all the extra plugins you are trying to install & the order in which you are installing them. This issue has cropped up b4 where I think it was after some people had installed Innover's Real plugin that all subsequent plugin installations weren't registering in the relevant prefs sections . . . tho' I think that mainly referred to input plugins, where the relevant associated extensions weren't showing up in the FileTypes section: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=23786 Give it a read anyway! |
