My (Photoshopped) take on the Bento skin

While I'm lovin' the idea of a singleUI skin for Winamp 5.5, and I give my utmost respect to the creator of the new Bento skin, I feel that (and others probably will agree with me) that this new skin deviates too far from the original Modern Skin design; it looks more like a Winamp 2 skin.

With that being said, I creaded a mockup in Photoshop of what I think Bento should ultimately look like:

Please note that this redesign doesn't exist yet, it's simply an idea of mine.

Were you equally disappointed when the Modern skin didn't look just like the original Winamp Classic skin? Bento is a new skin. The nods to Winamp2 style pixel art are gorgeous IMO.

I don't mean to cheapen the work you put into making that mock-up; it doesn't look bad. But the Bento skin looks better.

If you really want Single UI love that looks like a clone of Winamp Modern, a skin like that has been around for a little while called Winamp 5 Single UI (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....light=singleui). Hope this helps.

I really like your mockup. Looks much better than the original "Modern Skin". But the actual Bento skin isn't bad either, especially with some of the cool, dark color themes (yes I also use [a modded version of] the Zune theme in Windows XP

). The "classic" color theme in Bento is also not bad.. and... ehm... the skin I like the most is still the Classic one. And that's the one I'll continue to use till the end of time, sorry

It's just the fastest one on my old 866 MHz PC and thats what matters.

But again, very good work!!!

although i like your design, bento is a great skin. it's nice to try something new in winamp. as dkordik said in a previous reply, there is a single ui skin you can try.

I like your skin Psythik. I would use it. I have not seen the bento skin jet, so I can't say which one is better.

I do want to modify the "config.png" file, but my picture editor cannot support it.
