@MaK77
If that's the case, then maybe we should just make 'Show Winamp in system tray only' the default setting under Vista? hehe :-D ;-)
Seriously though... yes, we know that DWM thumbnails is causing most (if not all) of the problems under Vista.

@jakobtischler
The Auto-Tagger was a last minute addition to the build system prior to releasing this public beta. It was only added to the English installer script, but not to any of the other locales. Sorry.

@Banditbond
Re: milk_img.ini and milk_msg.ini always written to default dir by installer:
Ahh. Thanks for the report. We'll get someone to look at the installer. However, I've a feeling that it's possibly a Milkdrop plugin bug/issue, and not the installer....

@Maxim
No idea personally, but probably not. Most other programs would crap out if the image file had the wrong extension, regardless of whether Explorer thumbnails gets it right when folder.jpg is actually folder.png

@kzuse
Yes, it was referenced in the beta changelogs, but isn't complete yet.
When the time comes, I'm sure that all will be revealed.

@djhouska

1) That would appear to be a Modern skins issue (probably unimplemented).
Double-clicking the top left corner menu icon with Classic skins still works for closing Winamp.
Did it ever work with the Winamp Modern skin in 5.35 and earlier?
By the way, I never even knew you could do that, heh. For now, why not just single-click the top right corner 'Close Winamp' icon instead?
[Edit] Just seen your edit/realisation, heh [/Edit]

2) Expected behaviour. Milkdrop requires music to be playing for it to work properly. So it's probably not a good idea to start Winamp that way. Maybe try the Time Restore And Autoplay plugin included in the Essentials Pack (see link at bottom of first post in thread) which will let you make Winamp start autoplaying music at startup.

3) Can't reproduce

4) maybe....

5) Expected behaviour / wishlist item.

6) feature request

7) Known issue. It looks like no skins are remembering their individual 'windows open' settings, eg. if playlist and ml are closed in one skin then they'll be closed in all others, or if vis/vid/etc is open in one skin, then they'll also be open in any other skin you switch to.
I'm not sure how long this behaviour has existed. It could've been like this for a fair few releases, or it could be 5.36/5.5-beta specific. I'm not sure at the moment....

@jph6t / Juanus / VooDoo` / soulstace / etc
The weird font issue plot thickens
Can we also see a screenshot of Prefs > Modern Skins > Font Rendering tab?
Or does it also happen in Classic skin with no Modern skin support installed (eg. if you temporarily disable gen_ff.dll)?
There's also a possibility that Windows is assigning Arial Bold to Arial.
Can you try switching to a different font (in Prefs > Playlist), eg. Tahoma, Verdana, etc, and confirm whether the problem persists?
As for why (in Juanus' case) installing the Essential Pack fixes it, I really aren't sure (but was thinking that maybe it was a conflict/issue caused by an old plugin/setting - though that theory got negated when someone confirmed that it also happened on a completely clean install).
