Hi
I think I speak for many users who now have TV outs on
their Video Cards as well as many who now use 1024X768 or
greater. The winamp graphics are great but their (too
small). My all time favorites are the realistic stereo
face panels like pioneer and sony but again, their too
minature.

What also would be nice is as you have categories for 3D,
Best Skins, Etc... a category for Large Skins as well.

Thanks

Large skins?, how would you make this large skin?, given that the Winamp size is pretty much fixed, except when you use double size mode on the main and EQ windows, but that is more blurred than my vision after a good night out.

Or do you mean make skins with big large controls on it?

personaly I like my winamp the size it is, I'm sure WA3 will bring all kinds of screen gobbling skins and such like to the world, not something I look forward to, but that's just my opinion.

back to the day job

Enjoy your debate, but keep in mind ... not *EVERYONE* has inglés as their primary language. Must sometimes forgive the lil' homonym/homophone every so often. And ( ) this is supposed to be fun, right? Not writing a doctoral thesis here ...

Don't wanna fight...

I was just funnin'. I should point out however, that you can start a sentence with a conjunction. There is nothing incorrect in the usage, despite the lessons of leagues of grade school teachers. It is merely not preferred.

Quote:
There is a persistent belief that it is improper to begin a sentence with And, but this prohibition has been cheerfully ignored by standard authors from Anglo-Saxon times onwards. An initial And is a useful aid to writers as the narrative continues.

And that's as much as I care to say on the topic of grammar. [sentence fragment]Back to skinning![/sentence fragment]

I think I did see a larger skin, maybe it used both double
size and larger buttons. I forget the name but it was
green with a large display and a large unique layout for
the buttons. Though it did look much better, I just didn't
care for its design.

The problem is more with proportion and fonts of things,
for instance, the display is nice and clear, the buttons
appear kinda small. In the playlist, the lettering is
small. I know you can change the font but then it just
dosent look like it fits well with the proportions of the
winamp window that holds it. Guess what I am saying is
that it would be cool, I think to start a winamp category
for skins with larger fonts and buttons if possible.

Winamp really don't look too bad on the TV. One of the
visualizations, Geiss, looks fantastic, and piping my sound
through the stereo system dosen't hurt the pure digital
experience either.

I guess maybe winamp would probably look better if I went
out and got one of those Sony-WEGA corner to corner focus
TV. Leave it to me to buy the cheapest S-Video Input TV I
could find, so I guess I asked for it.

Just the same, thanks for your help anyway...
Steve

I know what you're thinking, time to kick up some cash and
get the WEGA. Is anyone familiar with the 1080i
technology. I was told that it uses some interlacing trick
to give you what appears to be a 1024X768 resolution on a
TV monitor. Some of Sony's better monitors I believe is
1080i ready. I don't know if what I said was true
otherwise maybe I reach for that one. If anyone is
familiar with this technology, please fill me in, thanks..

Steve;

No tricks on the WEGA. It's flat out a higher resolution monitor; it exceeds the NTSC standard of roughly 640x480 (I forget its specs right now...) It has a VGA input and will display your computer's output just like your monitor does. 1080i, however, implies High-Def TV of some version. The WEGA is not HD ready (atleast the last model I saw).

Sony and other manufacturers do have plent of big, HD ready screens that will handle 1080i. Most are flat screens and way expensive.

If you've got the cash for a WEGA, buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Lunatic fringe, we know you're out there.
