Playlist Generator Winamp 5.5

Hello all,

I installed the new winamp and it's very good but i have a problem with playlist generator. I scanned my music library with no problems but when i am trying to use the new fetaure (right click -> play song similar to...) winamp doing NOTHING.

It can't add songs on my playlist which are similar with the "now playing" song.

What is the problem? I search in the options and web but i can't find anything...

PS. Sorry for any mistakes on my English

I am having the exact same problem

It scanned my music and video files and put them in the media library, no problem. The initial scan the first time I loaded a Neil Young standard (I always test on Neil Young), hit "play tracks similar to", no problem. But... nothing happened!

Uninstalled, reinstalled, and on scanning for the playlist generator (not the media player scan), whee..... crash.

I notice that it crashes on the part that says "analyzing metadata" if that is any help.

What is this designed for, Vista or something? XP won't handle it? Curious.

maybe you have no similar tracks for that song (test: try with different songs, it changes something?, or your database is too small

this is the default behaviour when no similar tracks are found

Reset Database button in the Winamp Preferences in the Winamp Preferences -> Plug-ins -> Media Library -> Nullsoft Playlist Generator changes something?

maybe the post-installation patch for some mp3 scanning crashes solves the problem:

As for the crash on analyzing metadata, you should try the updated in_mp3 available here:

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

Hi,

I am new to winamp. I really like this player. I am having a similar problem. I added 52K of songs and all is well. Now every song I add after that does not produce a playlist. I right click on "similar..." no list. On songs prior songs I get a list. Also when the playlist generator scans it only shows 52K whereas I actually have 56K of songs. Those 4K of songs do not yield a playlist. Any thoughts?

Thanks

I think the songs that you added need to be scanned also. They haven't be scanned so no results are going to come up.

And when I'm through with it, it's gonna blow a hole,
This wide, straight through the worlds own idea of itself.
They're throwing bottles at your house.
Come on, lets go break their arms."

Thanks for the input. I have scanned it a number of times. The #of songs that are displayed in the scanner 52K do not match what is in the player 55K. As I add songs the # goes up in the player but not the playlist generator (scan function)
