album artwork same for every mp3????
hey, i just got the new 5.5 beta which allows you to see mp3 album artwork, and for some reason... about 75% of all of my mp3s have the same picture as the album artwork (its a picture of the Troy soundtrack...which is really weird because i dont even have the Troy soundtrack.) Does anyone know why?? and how to delete this picture from all of them??? its very annoying. and i have around 3500 songs so i doing it manually on each mp3 would take forever!!

Check the folder where the files are.
Delete any AlbumArtSmall.jpg Folder.jpg Or any other jpg images you find. Pictures might be hidden. Make sure you can view hidden files. I tried winamp 5.5 yesterday. The album art works fine for me. |

That's strange...
You should try to sort the music in folders (artist/album) and copy the corresponding pictures to each album. Also note... the damn folder.jpg and albumartsmall.jpg are not only hidden but also system. That means you won't see them with windows explorer if you enable "show hidden files and folders" you must also disable (a few rows lower) "hide protected operating system files". I would recommend you use total commander. If winamp sees the picture it should be there. |

Same Album Art for Most Albums
I found the hidden .jpg files with program linked above. I fund hundreds. I have thousands of songs. Will deleting these files delete the art for all of them? That is a bit scary since I may never get the correct art back! Is there another way to fix this problem?

God... get total commander check the "configuration, options, display, show hidden files"
And delete only what you want... they're only jpeg files after all. And I don't recommend dumping all your music in one folder... Sort your music... Here an example... d:\Music\Electronica\Tiesto\In Search of Sunrise, Vol 6 Ibiza\Disc 2\ |

Album Art
Thanks for recognizing I am God.
I have a better solution for me. Go back the the previous version of Winamp. Delete the cache for Google Desktop and regenerate it so it isn't affected. And forget about refiling the music I have - 41,000 songs. iTunes doesn't have this problem (as much as I dislike using it). Neither do a couple of other programs I have. Maybe Winamp will change this. Thanks for all the tips. |

![]() anyway, with the DOS attrib command you can remove the hidden and the system attribute to easily manage the album arts type ATTRIB /? in a DOS window for the syntax ...or use this (untested) freeware tool to change the attributes from a graphical interface: http://webplaza.pt.lu/~rpetges/windows/windows.html (remember to use an antivirus to check it) |

You can unhide files with the default Windows File Properties dialog box.
What I wouldn't give to have a key combo to hide/unhide files like Ctrl + H in nautilus on Ubuntu. Winamp ATF Reference — My cPro timer widget — My port of AVS Do NOT email me with general tech support questions. |
