Why is Winamp cutting off the end of my songs?
I did a quick search on the subject to see if it had been answered before, and it came up with nothing. If i'm a bad searcher and it's already been answered then... well, by bad. Anyhoo, the problem:
I recently updated to the newest winamp. I listened to my big huge playlist (over 100 hours... so i guess not that big for some of us :P) and, to my surprise, on a *few* songs, the end would be cut off (1-3 seconds). I had not noticed this before updating. I investigated by going to the original sound files on my computer and playing them outside (?) of the playlist, and their track times were different! Lo and behold, the end of my songs weren't cut off either. So i went ahead and replaced the songs in my playlist that were being cut off with fresh ones (played the original songs, went to recently played, moved them to the playlist, deleted the corrupted songs). I don't know how long that lasted, but it wasn't long before the same songs were yet again cut off. This leads me to think that it is a winamp feature/bug that is effecting me. The only thing i can think of is that winamp is attempting to cut off the "silent" parts at the end of my songs, which i'd rather it not do... Suggestions? Comments? Cheers, Unislash |

Do you have "remove silence at the beginning/end of track selected"?
"Ctrl+P>Output>Other>the uncheck "remove silence at the beginning/end of track selected" see if that works. "It is, in the end, whatever the Hell I want it to be, And when I'm through with it, it's gonna blow a hole, This wide, straight through the worlds own idea of itself. They're throwing bottles at your house. Come on, lets go break their arms." |

Hmmm did you try a clean install?
Post up you system specs and plugins that will help. It might be one of the plugins screwing things up. I never really found a fix for this, but I don't recall it happening now... odd. Anyhoo, if it does happen again, I'll be sure to post again. In the mean time... off the top of my head:
Hardware 1.7 Ghz Processor (Pentium M) 2 GB RAM (ddr2) Realtek High Definition Audio (sound card, iirc) 60 GB Hard drive @ 72000 RPM (+ 250 GB external--but not running music from this) ATI Mobility Radeon X700 Gfx card (128 MB iirc, but could be 256--been a bit since i checked this) Hmm... what else... nothing important .Plugins: Well, not really sure what all you want, so here's everything in my plugins folder. Hope you like it ^_^ Folders: avs DSP_SPS freeform Gracenote Milkdrop2 Files (all .dll) dsp_sps.dll enc_aacplus.dll enc_flac.dll enc_lame.dll enc_wav.dll enc_wma.dll gen_ff.dll gen_hotkeys.dll gen_jumpex.dll gen_ml.dll gen_tray.dll in_cdda.dll in_dshow.dll in_flac.dll in_flv.dll in_linein.dll in_midi.dll in_mod.dll in_mp3.dll in_mp4.dll in_nsv.dll in_vorbis.dll in_wave.dll in_wm.dll lame_enc.dll ml_autotag.dll ml_bookmarks.dll ml_dash.dll ml_disc.dll ml_history.dll ml_local.dll ml_nowplaying.dll ml_online.dll ml_orb.dll ml_playlists.dll ml_plg.dll ml_pmp.dll ml_rg.dll ml_transcode.dll ml_wire.dll nscrt.dll nsvdec_vp5.dll nsvdec_vp6.dll out_disk.dll out_ds.dll out_wave.dll pmp_activesync.dll pmp_ipod.dll pmp_njb.dll pmp_p4s.dll pmp_usb.dll read_file.dll ReplayGainAnalysis.dll tataki.dll vis_avs.dat vis_avs.dll vis_milk2.dll vis_nsfs.dll Cheers, Unislash |
