Weird minimize problem
Ever since I last closed Winamp, there's this annoying minimizing problem. Right when Winamp launches, it minimizes back to the tray and then pops up again over and over. It does this very rapidly and I have to use ctrl+alt+del to close it. How to fix this?
I'm using Windows XP and Winamp 5.51. I also recall closing Winamp by right clicking the icon in the system tray before this bug occured (if that helps). |

I get this problem too using a clean install but only if I exited winamp while it was minimised to the tray beforehand. It doesn't do it if I closed Winamp while it was sitting on my desktop.

Sounds like a known issue. Issue 2 under the Temp Section: 5.5x-specific issues section, from the Known Winamp 5 Bugs thread.

Yup. Known bug.
The workaround for now is to not close Winamp whilst it's minimized to the system tray. Either set it to show in the Taskbar only, or restore it first before closing. Hopefully we'll get this fixed eventually, though note that it actually occurred as a result of fixing an even worse bug in 5.5, where Winamp wouldn't restore at all if it was previously closed whilst minimized to the systray... |
