Automatic Playlist
Hello!
I'm searching for a plugin or a feature that automatically monitor a directory of new files and deleted files and update my playlist automatically. Does Winamp has this feature? If not, is a plugin available? Thanks for the help! |

Not specifically for your playlist, but for your Media Library - yes.
Ctrl+P for Winamp preferences > Media Library > Local Media > Watch Folders tab - set all your preferences there Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads. But I'm not able to use the MediaLibrary instead of the playlist to use the "Watch Folder" Feature?
So, this feature what I want is not available without plugins? Does anyone know a plugin for this problem? Thanks for the help! |

As a workaround...
If it is a specific folder/directory, you could create another Winamp shortcut with the folder/directory in the Target or Command Line Example... "C:\Program Files\Winamp\winamp.exe"space"C:\My Documents\My Media Files" Include the double quotes (not two single quotes). The word space, represents one space. Be careful not to have shortcuts or playlists within that folder/directory. Then each time you start Winamp with that shortcut, you will get a "updated" playlist in the playlist editor. |

I have tried your proposal with success. Thanks for this helpful answer
But is it also possible to say winamp in this shortcut that it should not start to play the songs? |

Whoops, sorry. I forgot it would start playing automatically.
Instead of that. Maybe the LiveFolder plugin will do what you want. I have not used it my self, so I don't have an evaluation of it. If that does not workout, there is another possible workaround. Try DrO's Time Restore & Autoplay plug-in. There is an option that lets you a file playlist or folder upon Winamp start. You could add your specific folder to that option. After installing the plug-in... 1. Winamp > Ctrl+P (for Preferences) |

I tried to download the plugin, but when I open the link, on the page is only "?>" and nothing else.
Do you also have this problem or is this a problem with my browser? |

That is an intermittent server side (not yours) glitch. It has been mentioned by at least one other forum member and I have seen it also. Try again at a later time and it might help to clearing your internet browser cache.
[edit] I am finding that if your press the Reload button after getting the ?>, the page or plug-in should download correctly. [/edit] |

Is it right that the livefolder plugin is not able to watch in subfolders?

I don't know. As mentioned above, I have not used that plug-in so I don't have an evaluation. I am just aware of the plug-in.

Correct, but you'll also need to contact the author of the LiveFolder plugin for an answer/support for that issue, since 3rd-party authored plugins are not supported here.

Google search results for LiveFolder for Winamp But as you can see, most of the above search results are in another language (maybe Swedish? I dunno). But with luck (and a bit more search engine interactivity), you may find a website or a contact email there. |

If you already have installed the plug-in, check the plug-in's About box, Help file, ReadMe file or other documentation for contact info. Contact info may also be available in the plug-ins configuration screen/window.
Another way to find possible contact info is to click on the developer's name at the plug-in details page. In this case, there is a IQC number. |
