winamp won't play very short mp3's

I have very short mp3 files (a second or less) and winamp wont play them. windows media does play them. I like winamp better, and want to use it for these files. is there anyway to make winamp play them?

Turn off crossfading. The botton can be found in the Equalizer.

More than likely, you'll need to decrease the "buffer ahead on track change" value in:
Winamp -> Prefs -> Plugins -> Output -> DirectSound -> config -> Buffering tab.
