No Audio with AAC LC songs

I'm unable to play any audio files listed as "MPEG-4 AAC LC". The song loads up in the player fine, I can see artwork, all the tag information, etc, etc.. just no sound at all.

I have a fresh install of the latest version of Winamp (free download version).

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks so much!!

Hmm, the file info says "3 kbps"

That is obviously wrong...

So either the .m4a file is corrupt, or there's a bug in Winamp / in_mp4

Please could you upload a sample m4a file somewhere and post the link here.

If you don't have your own webspace, use one of stashbox.com, sendspace.com or mediafire.com

Don't worry if the url in your post says "url submitted by user", as mods/admin can still see the url.

I'm using Tunebite to convert the m4p file to an m4a file, if that helps with troubleshooting.

The file is corrupt (bitrate = 3 kbps).

It's the same in all players I tried it in (Winamp, Foobar, MPC, VLC).

You must be doing something wrong with the conversion process.
I doubt if there's a Tunebite support forum anywhere, is there...?
(sorry, but I've never used Tunebite before, and wouldn't buy any drm-protected iTMS m4p files even if Apple offered to pay me to take them off their hands).
